Minister of Finance Salem bin Braik and Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qasem Buhaybeh held talks today, Wednesday, in the temporary capital Aden, with a delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) included the Representative of the WHO in Yemen Dr. Arthur Besijian and Director of Health Systems in the Middle East Awdh Matria.
The discussions covered a range of topics pertaining to health facilities and services in Yemen, challenges facing health sector and the urgently needed interventions by the international community to re-build health sector and improve health care and services.
The conversations also touched joint efforts of the Yemeni government and WHO to work out the appropriate plans to carry out the needed interventions to improve health services and rescue health system.
The Finance Minister called on the WHO to double down efforts to mobilize the needed international fiancés to support health sector.
The Health Minister underscored the importance of joining national and international efforts to find out the appropriate and realistic model to carry out the health care project in Yemen.
The WHO's officials stated that they are keenly seeking to further bolster aspects of cooperation and partnership with the Yemeni government and Ministry of Health.
