Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi received the US Ambassador to Yemen Steven Fagin today and held talks with him over the latest developments and efforts for bring about peace.

Dr. al-Alimi congratulated the US Ambassador and the American people on the occasion of the election of President Donald Trump as President of the United States of America for two non-consecutive terms, thus emphasizing the greatness of the democratic process of the United States of America, as well as the American desire of the American people and the world's people to make real changes.

He affirmed the interest of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government to work together with the new administration with all seriousness and positivity in a manner that reflects on serving the two friendly nations and peoples and in a manner that achieves for Yemen and its honorable people an end to the terrorist Houthi militia's coup and the state's restoration.

Member of the Leadership Council Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi affirmed that the real test for the US administration towards the region and Islamic nations begins with putting an end to the Israeli war on Gaza, and working to initiate a comprehensive peace that leads to establishing an independent Palestinian state based on UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
