HODEIDA-SABA
Governor of Hodeida Dr. Al -Hassan Tahir inaugurated Tuesday a project to distribute fishing boats in Khokha District funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and implemented by the Abs Development Organization for Women and Children.
The project provided 83 grants to 415 beneficiaries among fishermen, including "a boat, an engine, fishing nets, a GPS device, and life jackets."
The aim of the project is to support affected fishermen who are suffering from the repercussions of the economic crisis and the war caused by the Houthi terrorist militia.
During the inauguration ceremony, attended by Khaled al-Shamsi, head of the General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea, Governor Tahir praised the importance of the project, which will serve a vulnerable segment of society—fishermen.
He emphasized that it will contribute to improving their living conditions amid the challenging circumstances they face.
