Yemen condemns Israeli Knesset's approval of law to execute Palestinian prisoners

The Republic of Yemen strongly condemns, in the strongest terms, the approval by what is known as the Israeli Knesset of a law stipulating the execution of Palestinian prisoners, and considers it an extremely dangerous escalation and a legislative precedent that entrenches an approach of extermination, and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and a breach of international charters and agreements, namely the relevant Geneva Conventions on the protection of prisoners.

Yemen's foreign minister, Dr. Shaya Zindani held talks with the Director of Humanitarian Operations at the International Committee of the Red Cross over a range of humanitarian issues.

Minister Zindani welcomed the important role played by the International Committee of the Red Cross in Yemen, and urged for strengthening the ICRC's activities and developing a new catalogue of services that keeps pace with the current humanitarian situation.
