His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) received today, Tuesday, the Foreign Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt Badr Abdel Aty, on the sidelines of the meetings of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly.
The conversations covered Yemeni-Egyptian bilateral relations in different areas, topical issues in the region, joint coordination between the two countries to cope with the common challenges and the ongoing efforts to make peace in Yemen.
The Chairman of the PLC celebrated the deeply rooted and historic Yemeni-Egyptian relations, highly praising the Egyptian supportive stance in support of the Yemeni people in different stages and circumstances.
President al-Alimi heaped praise on the Egyptian active role within the Arab Coalition in support of the legitimate Yemeni government and its efforts to restore the state's institutions, re-establish peace, stability and development, deeply appreciating Egypt initiative to receive hundreds of thousands of the Yemenis who are seeking safe refuge from the atrocities of the terrorist Houthi militias.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister reaffirmed the steadfast stance of the Arab Republic of Egypt on the side of Yemen and its people, and all efforts aiming to establish peace, stability and development in the country.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaya al-Zindani, Yemen's Permanent Representative to the UN Abdullah al-Sa'di and Egypt's Permanent Representative to the UN Osama Abdel-Khaliq were in attendance.
