Chin's Embassy celebrates anniversary of establishing the Republic of China, Yemen-Chinese relations

The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Yemen held a reception today, Tuesday, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of China and the 68th anniversary of Yemeni- Chinese diplomatic relations.

Minister of Education delivered a speech in which he celebrated the deeply tooted Yemeni-Chinese relations throughout the humankind history, underlined the robust contact through ancient Silk Road between the two countries peoples.

He greatly valued the significant and constant support of China for Yemen and the Yemeni people, deeply appreciating Beijing's support for the unity of Yemen and its sovereignty , as well as China's support for the efforts to re-establish security and stability all over Yemen.

The Chargé d' Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Yemen Zhao Zheng highlighted the strong historical relations between China and Yemen, given that they are among the oldest civilizations that interacted through the ancient Silk Road.

He noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries 68 years ago, China has carried out more than 100 cooperative projects in Yemen, thousands of Chinese experts have offered their support and some 100 Chinese experts have sacrificed their lives for this friendship.

The Chinese diplomat reiterated his country's position in adhering to an objective and fair position on the Yemeni issue and its continued support for Yemen, either in the humanitarian field or reconstruction.

He also stated that his country is willing to intensify its cooperation within the framework of the "Belt and Road Initiative" and other international initiatives, with the aim of transforming Yemen's enormous potential into a driving force for development.
The Chargé d' Affairs of the Chinese embassy pointed out to his country call to stop targeting ships in the Red Sea and ensure the safety of the supply chain, production and international trade system.

He called for joint action to protect the safety of the Red Sea in accordance with the international law and to respect the sovereignty of the Red Sea countries, including Yemen.
