Authority, in the temporary capital Aden, confirmed that airlines, international organizations and operators must obtain a prior flight permission from the Authority to enter the airspace of the Republic of Yemen, as it is the official civil aviation authority of the country.

Removing Houthi threat requires comprehensive deterrence strategy, says Maj. Gen. Al-Zubaidi

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Maj. Gen. Aidaroos al-Zubaidi has emphasized that removing the threat of the Iran-affiliated Houthi militia to international peace and security requires a comprehensive local, regional and international deterrence strategy.

In a virtual meeting with the US Ambassador to Yemen Steven Fagin today, al-Zubaidi indicated the Leadership Council's readiness to engage in any regional and international efforts to end to the Houthi terrorism in Yemen and the region, by peace or war.

He said removing the Houthi threat requires real cooperation between countries of the region and the world. Talks between al-Zubaidi and Fagin covered the the economic and humanitarian developments in Yemen, and the economic and administrative reforms that the Presidential Leadership Council and the government are working on in order to activate state institutions and improve their performance.

They also discussed the Presidential Leadership Council's decisions in the form of a series of measures through the Central Bank of Yemen and a number of service ministries, which in total aim to end Houthi abuse of the banking sector, and the assets of government service institutions, most notably Yemen's national air carrier.

They also discussed the latest regarding the international and regional efforts to end the war and bring peace to Yemen and the region. In this regard, al-Zubaidi reiterated the readiness of the Presidential Leadership Council to engage in any political process to bring peace to the country through the negotiating team.
