Ministers of work, transport chair meeting for activating weights law

the Minister of Public Works and Roads Engineer Salem al-Harizi and Minister of Transport Dr. Abdulsalam Humaid chaired Sunday a meeting to discuss several issues related to the implementation of the Weight Law and central weighing stations in the national road network.

The meeting, attended by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Salem al-Wali, and the Chairman of the Road and Bridges Maintenance Fund Maeen al-Mas addressed the joint efforts to preserve and develop the road network, regulate vehicle loads and reduce violations of prescribed weights that cause damage to the road network.

Minister Al-Harizi emphasized the importance of the Road Fund's efforts in implementing road maintenance and rehabilitation projects and activating central weighing stations in Aden and the liberated governorates.

He reiterated the importance of preserving the road network from destruction and deterioration due to excessive weights.

Meanwhile, Minister of Transport reaffirmed the ministry's support, through all its bodies, for the efforts of the Road Fund in fulfilling its duties for the public interest.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade emphasized the importance of developing the national road network to contribute to enhancing the transportation of goods and services and facilitating trade at a lower cost.

Engineer al-Mas, in turn, reviewed the efforts and achievements of the Road and Bridges Maintenance Fund in implementing road projects and activating central weighing stations to regulate violations of weights.
