His Excellency (HE) President Dr. Rashad a-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), affirmed that the state is determined to protect civilians, uphold its legal standing and maintain unity in its military and security decisions, warning of the danger posed by the escalation of the South Transitional Council (STC) in Hadramout and al-Mahra governorates and the involvement of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in supporting the rebellion and undermining state institutions.

Finance minister discusses with UK ambassador economic developments

Minister of Finance Salem bin Buraik discussed Thursday with UK Ambassador to Yemen Abdah Sharif latest economic and financial developments in Yemen and government's efforts to address the current difficult conditions.

The two parties also discussed implementing inclusive reforms in economic, financial, cash and administrative fields with regional and international support for improving public conditions in Yemen and alleviating humanitarian suffering.

The two parties also discussed efforts of regional and international communities and the UN to realize peace in Yemen and means of enhancing joint cooperation between the two friendly countries, especially in financial and economic domains.

They touched upon UK technical support in field of capacity building to enhance efforts of finance ministry and affiliated bodies.

Bin Buraik reviewed current difficult economic conditions in the country and the huge challenges facing public finance, as well as government efforts in field of implementing the inclusive reforms and combating financial and administrative corruption.

For her part, the UK diplomat renewed her country's continuous support to Yemen and helping the government of Yemen for improving different conditions in the country.

She also confirmed her country's support to realize the admirable peace in Yemen.
