Health minister holds meeting with Taiz officials on medical services

Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qasem Buhaybeh, along with Governor of Taiz Nabil Shamsan, held meeting Tuesday with leaderships and officials of health sector to discuss reports on performance, needs, challenges and future plans to improve medical services in the province.

Minister Buhaybeh confirmed that the aims of his visit to the province is to evaluate the performance of health sector closely and to inspect the ongoing work in the hospitals and level of providing services in the provinces, which have big number of population and need big medical capabilities, especially under Houthi militia's attacks on medical infrastructure.

Minister Buhaybeh directed leadership of public health in the province to prepare a complete matrix in urgent needs in financial and administrative fields.

For his part, Taiz governor confirmed that the visit of the minister to the province has big importance and confirms keenness of the ministry and the government on discussing situations closely.

For their part, Deputy Governor of Taiz for Medical Affairs Ellan Abdulhaq and Director of Public Health Office in the Province reviewed detailed report on health situation in the province and urgent needs to improve medical services, led by increasing operational budgets and establishing specialized health facilities.

Minister Buhaybeh visited a number of public hospitals in the province inspecting the ongoing work in them and services provided to citizens.
