Planning ministry discusses with UNFPA priority plans, interventions for 2024

Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Nizar Basuhayb discussed Sunday with Office Director of UNFPA in Aden Jean Paul achievements of the fund in the past year and priority plans and interventions for 2024.

The meeting, which was attended by concerned officials in the ministry of planning and international cooperation and officials in the fund, touched upon accomplished projects in 2023 in the program of Gender-based violence, reproductive health and mechanisms of emergency and swift response, population, development and youth, in addition to priorities plan and needs reported by the national sectors to the fund for 2024.

Basuhayb highlighted the role of the UNFPA and its participation in a number of projects under the difficult conditions the country is going through, confirming significance of increasing interventions adopted by the fund and focusing on projects providing incubators and tackling malnutrition, taking care of juvenile, orphans and enhancing coordination with the ministry and relevant bodies and the fund to cover needs and interventions of the sustainable for forthcoming periods.

In another meeting, Deputy Minister of Planning discussed Sunday with Director ACTED organization in Aden Hazem Hayagenah level of implementing the organization's projects plan in field of food security and improving services and improving services of water, environment and sanitation.

The meeting also discussed managing displaced people camps in the liberated provinces.
