President al-Alimi: Support for gov't the way to stop the militias' adventures at national, regional levels

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Tuesday, Ambassador of the United States to the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin.

They conferred over Yemeni-American bilateral cooperation, the developments in the Yemeni national scene and the region, including the Houthi militias' terrorist attacks on the shipping lanes and the means to contain repercussions of these attacks that are destabilizers of international peace and security.

President al-Alimi greatly praised deeply rooted bilateral relations between the Republic of Yemen and the United States dated back 78 years.

He also praised the United States' stated commitment to support the Yemeni people and its political leadership to achieve its aspirations for eliminating the coup, restoring the state's institutions and bringing the sustainable peace that is based on the well-known and nationally, regionally and internationally agreed on terms of the peace references.

The Chairman of the PLC reiterated the commitment of the PLC and the government to the comprehensive peace approach and to support the UN-led efforts to revive the political process based on the outcomes of the good offices by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The President stressed that only substantial support for the internationally recognized Yemeni government and utmost international pressures on the terrorist Houthi militias can stop the militias' adventures at both national and regional levels, refresh the hope of potential return to the desirable peace track.

President al-Alimi noted that the Yemeni peoples hinge great hopes on the ongoing peace efforts to allay their long-standing humanitarian suffering, particularly the government's employees in the regions controlled by the terrorist militias whose salaries have not been paid for years.
