Ambassador of the United States to the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin renewed his country's support for the internationally recognized Yemeni government's efforts to restore security, stability and sustainable development.
He made his statement as he was speaking at a reception held by the American embassy today, Tuesday, to mark the 248 anniversary of the United States independence and 78 years of the Yemeni-American relations.
Mr. Fagin noted that serious and illegal attacks by the terrorist Houthi militias on the international maritime navigation over the past five months have risked every positive thing realized for the peace, describing the militias' operations as a 'terrorist action'.
The American Ambassador stated that it is very important to work on reaching a comprehensive solution to the conflict in Yemen that can't be achieved but through a Yemeni-Yemeni peace process guided by the UN.
Fagin hailed the Yemeni-American relationship as constructive helped to establish significant collaboration in several crucial areas most notable enhancing the region's security through cooperation about fighting terrorism, controlling smuggling of weapons and drugs and Yemeni artifacts.
