Hadhramout Deputy Governor receives UN Coordinator in Yemen

Deputy Governor of Hadhramout for Desert and Valley Districts Affairs Amer al-Ameri discussed Monday with the UN Resident Coordinator in Yemen Julien Harneis humanitarian situations in the districts of the Valley and Desert of Hadhramout.

Al-Ameri pointed out to complicating service conditions over increasing numbers of thousands of displaced persons, especially water, health and education services.

He pointed out that the sharp fall down of the national currency prices before foreign currencies has increased humanitarian suffering of citizens and has left big impact on economic situations.

For his part, the UN Coordinator confirmed readiness to work with concerned bodies to increase needs matrix and proposals of urgent developmental projects in the framework of the humanitarian response plan and recovery plan soon in the future.

He praised facilitations provided by local authorities and their support to humanitarian agencies working in Hadhramout.
