Defense Minister, U.S. Ambassador discuss developments in Yemen

Minister of Defense (Lt Gen) Mohssen Ada'airi discussed today, Tuesday, with American Ambassador to Yemen Steven Fagin and the American Military Attaché the latest developments about the situations in Yemen.

The conversations touched upon the situations in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden amid the threats to the international maritime navigation by the terrorist Houthi militia and its escalation at different levels.

General Ada'ri has made it clear that supporting the internationally recognized Yemeni government is the ideal way to restore the Yemeni state's institutions and secure the global shipping lanes.

The Minister of Defense stated that fighting terrorism represented by the terrorist organization of the Houthi militia, al-Qaeda and ISIS requires the international community to support the Yemeni legitimate government, effectively sustaining its armed forces on the ground.

The American Ambassador confirmed his administration's support for the Yemeni government in different fields, including fighting the terrorism.
