Assallal receives Head of Middle East Department in Canadian FM

Yemen's Ambassador to Canada Jamal Assallal received Saturday Head of Middle East Department in the Canadian Foreign Ministry Martin Laruz and Head of the General Department of the Peninsula and the Gulf Countries Neil Brinan.

Assallal discussed with the two Canadian officials significance of securing navigation and international trade in the Red Sea and importance of enhancing and capacity building of the Yemeni institutions to tighten security of the Red Sea.

He reviewed latest developments in Yemen and escalation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, confirming that the government will interact positively with international community's calls and UN efforts for ending the war and realizing peace on the bases of just and permeant foundations in accordance with the regionally and internationally agreed upon references.

For their part, the two Canadian officials expressed importance of freedom navigation and international trade, confirming Canada's support to the internationally recognized government and to efforts of the UN envoy for reaching a peace ending suffering of Yemeni people.
