Minister of Water and Environment Engineer Tawfeeq al-Sharjabi discussed Tuesday with Acting Director of World Bank in Yemen Tatina Peer issues of climate changes and development in Yemen.
In the meeting held on the sidelines of Water Conference in Yemen held here, the report on challenges resulted from climate changes in Yemen and their impacts on sustainable development has been reviewed.
The meeting also discussed proposal made by the World Bank to rehabilitate green urban infrastructure vulnerable to climate disaster with total coast of USD 20 million.
The two parties agreed on continuous coordination on strategic level to ensure boosting integration with the national plan and different programs associated with alleviating dangers of floods and programs of protecting water sources.
For her part, the WB official confirmed continuous support of the organization to water and environment sector in Yemen and helping the country overcome challenges of climate changes.
