President al-Alimi receives Ambassadors of Australia, New Zealand

RIYADH - SABA
His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) received today, Monday, Ambassadors of Australia Mark Donovan and New Zealand Barney Riley.

Bilateral relations between Yemen and the two friendly countries were key focus of the discussions that intended to further boost them to serve the mutual interests.

Regional and international developments of common interest were also touched upon.

The conversations covered the developments in the Yemeni national scene and the ongoing regional and international efforts to revive the political process and the required international pressures to press for peace amid Iran-backed Houthi militias' intransigence.

President al-ALimi has confirmed the commitment of the PLC and the government to the comprehensive and fair peace option that is based upon the terms of the peace references agreed on nationally, regionally and international, particularly the UNSCR 2216.

He made it clear that peace and the safety of international maritime navigation is a great interest of the Yemeni people.

The Chairman of the PLC reaffirmed the priority of supporting the Yemeni government to restore the state's institutions, sustaining its capacities to establish security and stability over the entire Yemeni territories; as this is the best way to secure the regional waters and international shipping lanes as well as to get the Houthi militias deal earnestly with the UN-led peace efforts based on the outcomes of the good offices of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
