[14/01/2024 02:40]

RIYADH – SABA
Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi received here on Sunday the Ambassador of the United Kingdom, Abda Sharif.

The meeting touched on bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and local developments including the efforts of the United Nations to launch a comprehensive political process based on the results of the laudable efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the terms of reference agreed upon nationally, regionally and internationally.

In this context, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council renewed the Council and the government’s adherence to a comprehensive and just peace approach, and openness to all initiatives that would alleviate the human suffering caused by the Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime.

The meeting also discussed the repercussions of the brutal Israeli war in the occupied Palestinian territories, and its devastating repercussions on international peace and security, leading to the militarization of the Red Sea, and the Houthi militias’ dangerous threats to international freedom of navigation on behalf of the Iranian regime.

In this regard, His Excellency the President stressed that securing the global trade movement and the stability of the region cannot be achieved except by restoring the Yemeni state institutions as they are the main guarantor of preserving Yemen’s sovereignty, stability, development, territorial integrity, and its return to its active role in its Arab and international surroundings, instead of bringing more destruction and ruin to our country and our territorial waters.

The meeting also reviewed the path of economic and financial reforms, and the international support required to strengthen the path of these reforms in various fields.
