The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC)held an extraordinary meeting chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Council, with the presence of all its members Sultan al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Majli, Mahmoud al-Subaihi and Salem Al-Khanbashi to discuss national and regional developments and the proposed policies to address them at all levels. The Prime Minister Dr. Shaya Zindani was in attendance.

Prime Minister receives US envoy for Yemen

Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik received Tuesday US Special Envoy for Yemen Tim Lenderking and US Ambassador Steven Fagin, discussing with them latest developments in Yemen and UN, international and regional efforts to enhance peace process.

The meeting touched upon latest developments in the Palestinian occupied territories amid continuous Israeli genocide war and repercussions on peace chances and regional stability, as well as continuous Houthi militia terrorist threats to maritime navigation security and their impacts on regional and international security and peace.

The meeting touched upon efforts exerted by the government to alleviate humanitarian suffering of Yemeni people over Houthi militia's triggered war and implementing economic and financial reforms and needed international support to support these efforts.

Prime Minister renewed government's firm position in achieving just peace on the bases of the three agreed upon references and significance of exerting pressure on Houthi militia to interact seriously with peace initiatives and measures of improving living and economic conditions of Yemeni people.

For his part, the US envoy for Yemen renewed his country's position supporting the government and its measures aiming at alleviating suffering of Yemeni people.

He highlighted government's efforts despite complicated challenges and its keenness on realizing peace and interacting positively with regional, UN and international efforts.
