Member of the Presidential Leadership Council General Tareq Saleh met here with President of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh in the framework of his state visit to Djibouti.
General Tareq conveyed best wishes of Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi to President Guelleh.
The two parties discussed latest regional and international developments and activating joint work to serve interests of the two countries and peoples and means of facing increasing threats to the international maritime navigation across the Red Sea.
The two parties confirmed significance of enhancing mutual cooperation in different domains, especially maritime security and coordination and consultation on relevant regional and international issues.
General Tariq praised the positive and responsible role of the Republic of Djibouti in protecting security of the Red Sea, confirming keenness of the Presidential Leadership Council on improving mutual relations between the two countries.
For his part, President Guelleh asked General Tareq Saleh to convey his best wishes to President al-Alimi and Members of the Presidential Leadership Council, confirming that geography and history have made Yemen an important extension to Djibouti and the security and stability of Yemen concern all countries overlooking the Red Sea and the Horn of Africa.
He also reaffirmed his country's firm position to support the Presidential Leadership Council and the Government.
