A government team discussed with a World Bank delegation in the temporary capital Aden today strengthening efforts and aspects of joint cooperation and coordination between the two sides, and the level of implementation of World Bank projects in a number of strategic and development sectors in Yemen.
The meeting discussed the level of implementation of a package of various projects funded by the World Bank, the development plan for the temporary capital Aden, and the needs of the service sectors for development projects to rehabilitate and develop the infrastructure damaged by the war, as well as the efforts of the government and the Ministry of Finance in implementing the comprehensive reform program in the economic, financial, monetary and administrative aspects, combating corruption in state institutions, the level of corrective measures, and disbursing the salaries of state employees through banks.
The meeting also touched on the amount of funding needed to support some vital sectors, develop social protection programs, mechanisms to support programs and plans for institutional capacity building and national strategies, and involve national sectors in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation regarding projects implemented with international partners, and efforts to transition from emergency interventions to sustainable.
