President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council along with Council member Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, received today, Friday, at his residence in New York, the Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Oliver Dowden, on the sidelines of the discussions of the seventy-eighth session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During the meeting, they reviewed the long-standing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, the latest developments in the Yemeni situation, and the international pressure required to push the Houthi militia to seriously engage with efforts to bring peace in order to end the long-standing suffering of the Yemeni people.
The meeting also touched on the economic and service reforms led by the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, and the British interventions available to support these reforms in various fields.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council acquainted the British Deputy Prime Minister on the national situation and the good efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman in order to renew the truce and launch a comprehensive political process under the auspices of the United Nations.
For his part, the British official stressed his country's commitment to supporting the Presidential Leadership Council and government reforms at all levels.
