President al-Alimi receives Ambassadors of EU in Aden

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Tuesday, in the interim capital Aden, the Head of the EU's Mission in Yemen Gabriel Vinals along with Ambassadors of France, Germany, the Netherlands and Finland.

During the meeting His Excellency briefed the European diplomats on the developments in the national arena and the ongoing efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman in order to resume the political process and build-up on it to achieve peace, security and stability in the country.

He also highlighted the challenges and the threats to the security and stability of the region amid the Houthi militias' growing cross-borders intimidations.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council highly praised the supportive stances of the EU's countries in support of the Yemeni people, its political leadership and its legitimate aspirations to restore the state's institutions and eliminate the Iran-backed Houthi militias.

His Excellency called for more European pressures upon the militias to get it engage an inclusive peace process to put an end of the protracted humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people.

The EU's Ambassadors have confirmed the continuous support of their own countries to the Presidential Leadership Council and the government's reforms in the government-held governorates at different levels.

The European diplomats voiced appreciation to the Presidential Council and the government for their keenness to deal constructively with the ongoing good offices aiming to revive the peace process, open the road to the future that all Yemenis deserve.
