President al-Alimi convenes a meeting with the High Judiciary Council

His Excellency President Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, along with the Council's Member Dr. Abdullah al-Alim, received the Chief and Members of the High Judiciary Council (HJC) today, Tuesday at al-Ma'shiq Palace in the interim capital Aden.

The Chief of the HJC Judge Yahya Talib detailed President al-Alimi on the actions and achievements of the HJC over the recent period, its future plans to boost the role of the judicial authority in delivering justice, enforcing the rule of law and regaining the peoples' trust in the judiciary and the state's institutions at different levels.

Judge Talib also cited a number of requirements in the financial and infrastructure domains to further upgrade the judicial authority and enhance its role establishing the values of justice, the state's prestige, protection of rights and public freedoms.

President al-Alimi applauded the HJC's efforts and progress it has achieved since it has been reconstituted, highlighting its' significant role in establishing justice amid current difficult circumstances which produced by Iran-backed Houthi militias' coup and triggered war.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council renewed the commitment of the Council and the government to enhance the judiciary independence, never intervene in the judiciary's action.

To this end, His Excellency directed the government work on removing all obstacles the judicial authority faced by and approve an appropriate budget for the judiciary in pursuant to the law and within the available financial resources starting from next year.
