The Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development signed Thursday a Grant Agreement with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) worth $1.2 million to contribute to the rehabilitation and maintenance of homes for displaced persons in Yemen.

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council General Tarek Saleh received Wednesday Vice President of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, the Director of Makha Port Abdulmalik al-Shara'abi.
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council was briefed by al-Shara'abi on the project of improving of Makha Port to keep pace with local and regional ports. The project will be implemented in different phases.
The director of the port made it clear that studies and plans for improving Makha Port carried out by foreign specialized company focused on transforming the port from a port receiving ships into containers port with international specifications.
According to the port director, the studies and designs include constructing a port for aerial and ground transportation and include also constructing 13 commercial, service and industrial zones, building new anchor and deepening the area into 16 meter in accordance with international ports' specifications.
General Tarek inspected level of implementing the current plan of improving Makha Port, including deepening the draft and expanding the navigation channel, as well as plans of training and qualifying the cadre of the port abroad, improving logistic services and easing administrative procedures to provide good facilitations to merchants.
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council praised efforts exerted by the port's department and directed the ministry of transport and the Corporation of the Red Sea Ports to provide different forms of support and cooperation to make the port's improvement plans successful.
