Presidential Decisions Bring Historic Gains for Yemeni Women
The recent republican decisions issued yesterday, Thursday, marked a new turning point in promoting the participation of Yemeni women in decision-making positions. The decisions included the appointment of Dr. Afrah Abdulaziz Al-Zouba as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, making her the first woman in the country's history to hold this sovereign portfolio. Moreover, Dr. Ahd Mohammed Salem Jaasous was appointed Minister of Local Administration, becoming the first woman to take on this ministry since the establishment of the republic.

Leadership Council Chairman concludes a fruitful inspection visit to Al-Mahra

President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, concluded today, Tuesday, an inspection visit to Al-Mahra Governorate, during which he inaugurated and laid the cornerstone of a number of service, development, and investment projects.

He also held meetings with the leadership of the local authority and community actors in the governorate about the level of implementation of sectoral plans.

He inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of more than 20 projects in the service and tourism fields in the city of Al-Ghaydha and the directorates of Al-Mahra Governorate, at the expense of the local authority, and government contributions.

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed his happiness at visiting Al-Mahra Governorate and meeting with its local leaders and community activities, for the service of its citizens and the strengthening of the unique solidarity of its people at all levels.

He praised the leadership of the local authority in Al-Mahra Governorate and its sincere efforts in the development and reconstruction of the governorate.

He added, "We saw a local authority that loves its province and a lively, peaceful society, as the people of Al-Mahrah always used to, and we also noticed the active role of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the development and reconstruction of the province."

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council affirmed the commitment of the Council and the government to strengthening the role of local authorities in Al-Mahra Governorate and all liberated governorates, supporting their efforts to achieve security and stability, and alleviate the human suffering caused by the Houthi militia backed by the Iranian regime.
