[16/09/2017]

GENEVA-SABA
Dozens of protesters rallied outside the UN building in Geneva on Saturday to protest at the Saleh-Houthi rebel militiascrimes against civilians and the non-enforcement of the UN resolutions on top of which is resolution no. 2216 on them.

The Yemen Coalition for Monitoring Human Rights Violations, the rally's organizer, said in a statement that "the rebel militia committed a horrific massacre in the city of Taiz; killed three children and injured 12 others byhowitzershells they fired from their hilltop outpost of Assallal, east of Taiz."

It said: "This crime comes as an episode in a long series of war crimes and genocides the coup militias have been committing with no fear or moral and legal restraint."

Among the crimes committed and, still being, are "the sieges, sniper shooting of civilians, detonation of houses, mosques, schools and hospitals, forcible disappearance of oppositionist journalists and activists and of military and political leaders whom the UNSC resolution 2216 requires the release of."

It added that "the militias' laid siege around the city of Taiz, now in its third year, and the baring of the entry of humanitarian aid or human rights activists to the city is putting the lives of civilians at stake."

The statement hailed the "Yemeni women for standing strong before the rebel militias' unrestrained and barbaric death machinery." "Mothers and wives of the forcibly disappeared have not been scared away from staging peaceful protest rallies despite the continuous attacks on them," the statement elaborated.
